Terms of Service

Last updated: August 20, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LINT ("the Service"). Please read them carefully before using the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LINT, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

LINT is a learning playground for code beginners and learners. For code you submit, the Service returns a plain-English explanation of what is correct, what is wrong, and why, along with a code health score to help you track your progress. LINT is designed to teach and explain, not to produce finished or production-ready software. Explanations are generated by AI and are provided as a learning aid only; they are not guaranteed to be error-free, complete, or secure.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use LINT. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use.

4. Usage Limits and Plans

The Free plan includes a fixed number of analyses per day, which reset on a daily basis. We may adjust these limits to keep the Service available and fair to all users. A paid Pro plan is in development; joining the waitlist does not create any payment obligation or guarantee of access.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to submit content you do not have the right to share, to transmit malicious code, to overwhelm or abuse usage limits, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any code you submit. We claim no intellectual property rights over your code. The LINT name, branding, interface, and underlying technology remain our property.

7. A Learning Aid, Not Professional Advice

LINT is a learning tool designed to explain code clearly for beginners. Its explanations are an automated aid, not a substitute for professional code review, security auditing, or testing. You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and validating any code before using it in production.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
