This Privacy Policy explains what information LINT ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. LINT is a learning playground for code beginners and learners: it reviews code you submit and returns plain-English explanations of what is right, what is wrong, and why, along with a code health score to help you track your progress. This page is maintained by the LINT team to answer common privacy questions about the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your email address and authentication details when you create an account or sign in.
- Waitlist information. The email address you provide when joining the Pro waitlist.
- Code submissions. The code, snippets, and optional language hints you submit for analysis.
- Usage data. Records needed to enforce daily analysis limits and to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to authenticate you, process the code you submit and return analysis results, enforce per-account daily usage limits, maintain and improve the Service, and communicate with waitlist members about upcoming plans. We do not sell your personal information or your code.
3. AI Processing
Code you submit is sent to a third-party AI model provider to generate your explanations and code health score. That provider processes the submission solely to return a result to you. Because the explanations are generated by an AI model, they are a learning aid and may be incomplete or inaccurate — always review and test what you learn before relying on it.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and waitlist information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Usage records are retained as needed to enforce limits and maintain the Service. You can request deletion of your personal information at any time as described below.
5. Security
Access to the Service requires authentication, and your data is protected with row-level access controls so accounts can only reach their own records. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third-party providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, and AI processing. These providers access your information only to perform tasks on our behalf and are bound to safeguard it. This is a shared responsibility: we operate the Service securely, and you are responsible for the code and information you choose to submit.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw from the waitlist at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@lint.dev.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
